Why did we choose Waterford, Ireland?
Waterford is a small, safe city in the south east of Ireland and close to many other interesting places. The people there are open and hospitable, families are caring, Irish education is of a high standard and, what is more, Ireland is well known for its culture, sports and picturesque scenery.
Waterford is the winner of the best city to live in 2021, thanks to its security, quality of life, architecture, beautiful coast and pedestrian areas.
The school we use is family run and has over 40 years experience. It is recognised by the Department of Education and is open all year unlike many schools which pop up during the summer and employ inexperienced staff. The WELC teaching staff have degrees and are qualified in teaching English as a foreign language. There is a wide range of good quality activities, which are not confined to on-campus sports and in-house hobby workshops. All the families are are carefully chosen by the director of the school and vetted by the "Garda" (Irish police). There is also a 24 hour contact service for emergencies.
